Issue with XenServer 5.5 - active directory memory leak

Hi All,

Just a quick update, after doing a few deployments on the new platform of Xen, appears that the new active directory feature has a memory leak. likewise is the third party plugin which citrix are using for this, though the memory leak is only for Dom0. as Dom0 only has 768Mb, once this reach it will crash the XAPI service, stopping XenCenter from working, not too long after will crash the Host.. Citrix are aware of this as I logged a call with them last week..

Multipathing and XenServer 5.5

Hi All,

Well to my shock I might have found a little issue with XenServer 5.5 multipathing..

After configuring multipathing on Xen today, noticed that to had 1 path configured, fair enough, enable/configured MPIO on the SAN, and waited for Xen to pick up the new path, like Xen 5 did..

Well it was a long wait, after restart one of the hosts, I thought I'd check the start up servers (chkconfig --list), only to notice that not only was multipath daemon not starting on… Continue

Hi All,

Onsite with XenServer 5.5, well been doing this for a long time now, have to say 5.5 is a very good release on Xen.

With Active Directory intergration helping control access, and ensuring root password isn't given to everyone ;-)

proper Snapshotting now in the GUI, resource pools, XenMotion, Multipathing and we havent even brought any features yet. Now think what you can do with a FREE platform using clustering and various other tools out there to help you keep your… Continue

Onsite with Citrix Application Streaming... :-S

Hi All,

Just a quick discussion or voice of a opinion.

Been doing some work a Jamie oliver, in which they require adobe reader, acrobat and photoshop all to be installed on the Server’s.

Now being on enterprise XenApp 5 thought this would be interesting to see what the options are without purchasing something like App-V.

In my naivety of seeing XenApp 5 had Isolation environments version 3, thought this might be an option, but the traditionally idea of a… Continue
